Meet Medina: Leading the way in Sales at Oneflow
This week, we sat down with Medina, the SDR Team Lead at Oneflow. She shared her journey into sales, the challenges she faced along the way, and what excites her about the future. Here’s a look at what she had to say.
Can you tell me about your journey that led you to your role here at Oneflow?
Yeah! So, I started in tech with a degree in Enterprise Systems and Service Design, and worked as a consultant for a bit. After a few years in London, working for a Swedish company as an SDR, I realized how much I enjoyed the role—especially the social side of it. But I wanted more. I was eager to take on leadership responsibilities, and Oneflow gave me the perfect opportunity. During my interview, I made it clear that I wanted to grow into team management, and they listened. From day one, Oneflow has been a place where I feel empowered to be a leader.
That must be a great feeling, for sure. Now, what was it that drew you to Oneflow, and how has your experience been so far?
At first, it was the branding—it just stood out. Then, I learned more about the product, and I realized how impactful it could be for companies. But what really pulled me in was the diversity. Working with people from different backgrounds is important to me, and at Oneflow, we have people from all over the world. It makes every day more interesting and creates a unique work culture. My team works extremely hard, but we have so much fun together. I get to be my authentic self here, and that’s something I value deeply.
So, you have a tight knit team! Is there a particularly challenging project you’ve worked on? How did the team come together to tackle it?
As an SDR, rejection is part of the job—90% of the time, we’re getting a “no.” It’s tough, but it’s also what pushes us to think outside the box. One of the biggest challenges is staying motivated after hearing “no” so many times. But we support each other through it. We share feedback, listen to each other’s calls, and even hit the gym together on tough days. It’s about keeping the energy up and finding ways to stay positive.
Besides keeping up with the positivity, are there other qualities in your colleagues that help make the sales team so successful?
Consistency is a huge factor, but transparency is key as well. In some sales environments, things can get competitive in a negative way, but we’ve avoided that. Our team is supportive, and we genuinely want each other to succeed. That’s rare in sales, and it’s one of the reasons we’re able to do our best work.
Diversity is a big part of Oneflow’s culture. How does that show up in the sales team?
When we talk about diversity, it’s more than just gender—it’s about background, culture, and perspective. I feel that in Sweden, diversity often focuses on gender, but I think it’s so much more. Our team is really diverse in every way, and that makes us stronger. Everyone brings something different to the table, and that’s why we’re able to be so innovative and creative in our approach.
What excites you most about the future of sales at Oneflow, and how do you see your role evolving?
One of the best things about working at a scale-up like Oneflow is that things are always changing. I’m excited to see us win bigger deals and evolve our product. I’m also looking forward to growing my own role, hopefully moving into more global leadership as we expand. The opportunities here are endless, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me.
Could you tell me how you see the company’s values showing up in your day-to-day work?
“Beat yesterday” is a big one for me, especially in sales. Every day is about pushing ourselves to be better than we were the day before. But “in it together” is also something I see all the time. Whether it’s helping out a teammate or giving feedback, we’re always working together to lift each other up. Our values aren’t just words on a wall—they really shape how we work as a team.
